Theranos was purported to be a revolutionary new technique for sampling blood using only one or two drops of blood as opposed to the many vials pulled with traditional techniques. The commercials we did for this used real people, many of which had issues with traditional blood drawing techniques, who were interviewed and then asked to have their blood drawn the Theranos way. Every single person who experienced the Theranos method was impressed and emotionally moved by the simplicity and painless experience. Theranos planed to be situated in Walgreens pharmacy locations and offer a la carte options and low pricing for most blood tests.
The interviews we conducted were on a grey cyc and we also made use of a small set which was to be representative of the Theranos clinics. To compliment this new technology the space was required to feel more like a spa than a traditional Phlebotomist's room.
Below are some renderings I did to this brief, although we ultimately ended up with something much more simplified that would cut in with the interview footage.
NOTE: Subsequently this product was found to be ineffective and was shutdown.
