My Own Worst Enemy
NBC Universal production 1 hour show.
The series followed the life of American secret agent Edward Albright and his alter ego, Henry Spivey, who had no knowledge of his double life. Albright, played by Christian Slater, was implanted with a chip allowing his handlers (Janus) to physically switch Albright's personality to that of his cover. However, in the pilot episode, there was a malfunction which caused Albright's personalities to switch at random, revealing his secret life to his alias. Henry was then thrown into the highly dangerous life of Edward, with no real way for the two to communicate except through short cell phone video messages.
The show was shot at Paramount Studios and on location. We built a number of standing sets as well as the episodic swing sets. It was a challenge to create a global show within the constraints of L.A. as each episode would entail a scripted foreign locale.

Main Sets ( see sub pages for additional sets)
As with most first episodes we had to do a lot to explain the concept/conceit of the show. Establishing the main standing sets of A.J. Sun ( The corporate office where Henry works) and the subterranean world of Janus ( the secret agency that deploys Edward (aka Henry) into the world.
The concept for A.J Sun was to retro fit a modern building onto and older one and beneath which would be the subterranean offices. This was a bit of a flip of normal convention where the upper offices were high tech and the under ground world of the agency was a bit more old school.
We also built Henry's house interior too.

Henry's House - Built set.
Henry's House interior was built on stage and based on a house where the pilot episode was shot. The decision was made to build it as real as possible, so we used hard ceilings as much as possible with exterior vegetation. The practical lighting and exterior lights allowed shooting without much if any floor lighting.

Janus. - The secret agency.
Retinal scans would allow access to the lower levels of the building where the secret agency was headquartered.
A.J.Sun. Henry's office.
The upper floors of the building housed the high tech offices of Henry's day job. Built set, with lots of glass and giant day/night translite.
