Bio
In 1981 I graduated from Film School in London with a B.A.(Hon's) Photographic Arts (Film). I entered the film industry the following year on Star Wars' "Return of the Jedi" as a production assistant and camera department trainee. While continuing to explore the possibilities within the industry by brief stints in the special FX make-up department ("Highlander") and the Art department ("Never Say Never Again", "Half Moon Street" and "Hammer Horror", Hellraiser II), I also pursued my cinematography passion, shooting a few small independent projects ("The End" & "Pick-up 2-4" for Channel 4's 4 on 4 series, and a small drama with Anthony Daniels) but eventually I returned to the Art Department; eventually making my debut as a Production Designer on Clive Barker's "Nightbreed" at Pinewood Studios, and have gone on to design many other Films including the British Academy Award winning "An Ungentlemanly Act", (partially shot on the Falkland Islands), "Hellraiser III", "Lord of Illusions" and two six part U.K. television series ("The Gift" and "South by Southeast"), and other American T.V. shows: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "My Own Worst Enemy", and the pilot for "Pure Genius". In addition to Film and Television longer format work I have also done numerous T.V. commercials as well as Art Direction for additional photography on films such as: "Lions for Lambs", "Phantom Thread", "Ready Player One" and "Mulan". Most recently I have become a long time collaborator with Errol Morris on his many commercials as well as his feature films: "S.O.P". (Standard Operating Procedure) a documentary feature focused on the Abu Ghraib Prison abuses, "TABLOID, A VERY SPECIAL LOVE STORY", and his Oscar winning film "The Fog of War".
