Motion Graphics

Miscellaneous motion graphic projects, using After Effects, Sketchup and Twinmotion.

"Countdown to Zero"   was a documentary feature about the alarming consequences of atomic warfare.
One of the key elements that had to be created was a digital clock counting down to zero
This was entirely built in After Effects.

Planet animations for Discovery Channel documentary about telescopes.
Early version of planetary animation depicting Ptolemy's model of the universe. A very complex animation using Trapcode's particular to draw lines of the orbits.
Animation of old etching.
light rays in telescopes.
The Moons of Jupiter.

Graphics for TV playback.

Pre-viz for how graphics will look while rollerskating, and simulating mirror balls. Created for Target commercial (Designer: Annie Sperling)

For an independent film "Burning Shadow" we couldn't use practical fire fx at the location so the scenes were shot without. I added the flames, smoke and embers in after effects.
Same film, the clock hands had to do strange moves, so all clock shots were shot without hands. Hands could then be animated and added to shot.

Sketchup model of dominoes, animated within sketchup, rendered via Thea. Pre-Viz for the Movie "The Fog of War"

"Christmas Presents from Heaven" was a documentary feature of the life of Solomon Burke.  The film used a lot of archival still images which had to be animated to make them a little more dynamic and engaging.  After Effects.

Animation of spinning record landing on title (Label created in photoshop and animated in After Effects.)

One of many animated stills, photoshop work to segment still then animate in AE
