Full Tilt Poker

We did a few rounds of these commercials for Full Tilt Poker.  I think all of them were Black and white. All made use of the Phantom camera to shoot at 1000 frames per second to get slo-mo footage of chips and cards etc. in action. The frame above shows a rig I made to enable an extreme macro shot of an eye ball. By mounting the camera onto the helmet, which is in turn strapped tightly to the actors head, no matter how much he moves, the camera and frame is locked onto the eyeball.  This enabled us to get reflection shots from the eye.

For some shots we made oversize chips, approx 4 to 6 inches in diameter. This enabled us to stack them and shoot up at them to get dynamic angles that would other wise be impossible with regular size chips.

set up to show how "around the world rig" could work for our shot. Below is a simple animation I did in Cararra to show the rig in action and the resulting shot next to it.

A couple of final commercials.

All the chips had to be made specifically for us because in a casino they would be worth the value of their face.

Below are some sample layouts for shot proposals and planning.
